    Arrow Updating Suse

    Hi!

I'm having some trouble to understand how to update Suse.
I have some sources set in "Installation source" in YaST.
One of them is a source for Beryl.
If I next open "Online Update" then it says there are no patches.
If I open "Software management" and search for Beryl, there seems to be a newer version available...

And then there is that "Software updater" (that orange icon) that sometimes says there are updates while "Online update" doesn't say so...

    Very confusing!
How can I make sure everything is updated all the time??

I'm not sure but I think the source must be a YAM source for it to update. Yes one of the many little things about Zen that does not work or is odd.

You could try smart. It just works.

    Thank you!
    I will try that software.

It's just not logical that you set different sources but they aren't all checked for updates.
I saw you can add and enable sources in the Software Updater (orange icon in system tray, is that Zen?)...
It should be all one program, especially for a noob like me

Yes the "updater" is part of Zen. As I understand Zen is being dropped in 10.3

I like Smart and I only have one issue with it I have yet to figure out how to automatically update the cache. So you need to open smart to see if there is any updates.

Be sure to install ksmarttray since it gives you a quick connection to smart.
