    Network config issues

    HI,

I'm a Linux newbie. I've installed Suse 10.1 on my pc but can't get the network/internet up and running. If I go into the HW Info in Yast I can see my netwrk card no problem, but when I go into Network CArd Config Overview, there is no network card present. I can manually add one, which seems odd to me, but I am not sure which details to add??

Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

How do you get your signal: cable, DSL, Dial-Up? Do you have: Winmodem, Router? In my case Suse recognizes connection automatically, but I think it depends on your lay-out.

    Hi,

Thanks. I have an ADSL connection through a Netgear Router.

I thought it might have been the network card but fitting another didn't work. All seems to be fine in windows, but I want to give Linux a bash?
