    Incomplete Xwindow Install

My 10.2 update from 9.2 hung running Sax2. I was able to abort and continue the 10.2 install but the Xwindow system is not complete. It was missing all of the /usr/X11R6/lib/module files and directories. I copied the 9.2 module directory and was able to start Xwindows but my sound and kde startup files are still not functioning. Can someone tell me how to either fully reinstall X windows or find out which other directories are missing.

    Hey,
    Try the following command :-
#rpm -ivh --nodeps --upgrade --force "rpm file name"
If it doesnt works first try to uninstall that 10.2 version using command:-
#rpm -e --force "rpm file name"
And then check whether your /usr/X11R6/lib/module files are available.

Feel free to ask if any problem occurs .

    loading RPM's

Which RPM files need to be loaded? I did my installation using openSuSE 10.2 iso disk images and I do not know what RPM's the system loaded.

Put the install disk(s) in again and do an update. This may fix the problem. You will at least be able to tell the installer what to install ie be sure all the X11 stuff is being installed.

    edit:
Also be sure you have enough space on the root partition

    Incomplete Install

I have reinstalled 10.2 with the same results. X windows is up and running but still without a splash screen at the start and xine can not find the sound card. My whole system was working fine with SuSE 9.2.
