eth0 & eth1 route problem,pls help!
hi,
im a begginner in linux suse.... i try to setup a internet server using suse linux 10.2 base. and i use two adapter as external and internal. external for internet access, internal for ip forwarding...i allready config eth0 as external and eth1 as internal...then may next config is DNS and hostname, after that i config also the routing config.and i use may default gateway check the ip forwarding.and assign may two adapter...as external ZONE and internal Zone.and Check the Masquerading. then i config the DHCP server, and i assign the static IP for may internal adapter. (192.168.0.1). then i set the primary and secondary server name, and default gateway......
(this is may network diagram)
internet connect to externel adapter then internal to Hud or Switch then spread to client......
(i use this code)
/etc/init.d/network restart
/sbin/ifconfig
after using this command, after restart.....i connect all connection
to the network when i test.....
i have no internet, but the client can ping the internal adapter which is static 192.168.0.1 then i try again to ping the client using internal adapter the result is unreachable.....the client recieve ip from dhcp server....
i try to remove the internal adapter then i can access the internet....when i plug it again the internal adapter totaly dhcp wont run....
when i reboot all the machine
and lookup the ip of may internal and external adapter
i see the ip of external adapter in eth1 then internal adapter have no ip static in eht0.....
it suddenly change....the external and internal adapter possition....internet run, dhcp server down
but client can ping internal adapter.
by the way im using smartbro wireless internet dynamic IP
hope any budy can guide me with may problem...
regards.

Execute this small script. It's executing checks for common network configuration errors and gives some hints how to fix them. If there are no problems detected just post the output generated by the script so we can check your network configuration
