    Google Earth

I have installed google earth for linux, and when I issue the "googleearth" command the splash screen pops up, but then it just hangs and doesn't move forward. The only output I get from the console is "Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0""

I have ATI video card with drivers installed, I have forced Xgl and Beryl working.

    Any ideas?

XGL causes you to lose the ability to use direct rendering (DRI) , that could be causing your problem. You can either disable XGL or there are several hacks you can use to allow applications to run on the root X server instead of the nested XGL server.

What are those kinds of hacks?
