Beryl no longer works.
Ok, I am new to Linux/openSUSE (I installed it only a week or two ago).
I got Beryl to work an everything. It worked completely fine. However, I wanted to increase my framerate in a game, and I switched the window manager to Metacity (I use KDE, by the way), and after the game I was able to switch it back to Beryl without a problem. Then I turned my computer off, and the next day I turned it back on, and it booted to Metacity. I tried to switch it back to Beryl, but it won't work.

I don't know how Beryl works with Suse, but in Sabayon there is an "Acceleration Manager" which lets you set AIGLX mode (or XGL mode for ati cards). If so, go there, make sure it's set properly, and restart X with ctrl-alt-backspace.

I have a similar problem. Beryl was working, now when I try to reload the manager I get the message 'the composite manager has crashed twice within a minute so will be disabled for this session'

fixes I tried:
reinstall Nvidia driver
reinstall Beryl
Remove .kde file from disk
Can anybody help???

5.0 seconds = 541.145 FPS
So about 108 fps
The output I get from "glxinfo |grep -i direct" is "direct rendering: Yes"
Edit: I too have the problem that Jonny88 has.

Just a suggestion:
Personal settings->Desktop->window Behavior->Translucensy and uncheck it if it is checked

When you launch beryl-manager, right click on the icon and go to Advanced Beryl Options > Rendering Platform > Force Nvidia. Also make sure you are using the Emerald Window Decorator.
