I defy anyone to close this port on 10.2. I've tried -nolisten tcp as suggested but it just flips me off and keeps running. Suggestions?...

    Angry port from hell - 6000 just stays open

    I defy anyone to close this port on 10.2. I've tried -nolisten tcp as suggested but it just flips me off and keeps running. Suggestions?

    Port 6000 is the X window system. Why do you want to close it?

    How are you getting that parameter to xinit exactly? Did you change a config file? Are you doing this via startx?

    $ startx -- -nolisten tcp
    is one way to do it.
