    Red face Sanyo DVR software

    I have a sanyo dvr its a dsr m810p and we are running the updated version of the software. the software is va-sw8000 lite (used for managing 1 dvr) i have gone out and purchased a copy of codeweavers crossover office to try and emulate the software since wine itself wouldnt allow me to run it. it installs fine yet when i go to launch it the waiting icon appears tho after a minute it dissapears and nothing happens it just wont launch can any one offer me some constructive ideas on how to make this software work

    What do you want to do with this software that you can't with the software that comes with Suse? Have you tried kb3 or if you use gnome Gnome CD/DVD creator?

    I doubt any of the Windows emulators will do the job since this appears to be some sort of driver software dealing with the hardware directly. Only the Linux kernel is allowed to do that via Linux drivers.

    im not trying to burn a cd its a video security servalance box and with out the software i cant login to retrieve the video files burning them is easy and ive tried a couple of different ways of loging in with various software but there seems to be something encoded in the software that allows me to connect to it

    If K3b can't solve you're problem, then you should address this question to the vendor. For me this is not related to Linux, it's some sort of security implemented by Sanyo. Since you bought the product you should have some technical support, so go for it!

    i have they said the software only works with windows and im not trying to burn a cd i want to access my video files from the sanyo dvr have any of you actuly checked the website i specified to see what a dvr is

    The spec is a little sketchy on what the interface spec is. How are you attaching to this machine?
