    Circumventing 'Control M'

I use a software program to calculate fair odds for horse races. It worked great when I was using Windows, but now my son has switched OS to Linux. Here's my problem. To run the software after the data has been inserted, you must hit "Control M." Linux recognizes this as a halt command. So the program won't run. Is there any easy solution to get the software tor run properly?

    Clarification

I should say that it's an excel spreadsheet, not a software program, if that matters.

That makes things a little clearer. I think ctrl-m on excel executes a macro, which in your case calculates betting odds. If you're running the same macro in OpenOffice Calc, then I think it's ctrl-u. I'm not certain about that, but look at "macros" in the Tools menu.
