SuSE installed perfectly....but won't load
Ok, so....i downloaded all 5 cd's from the SuSE webpage...and burned all of them onto 5 separate cd's.... I then booted up my computer with CD#1 in the cd drive, and soon installed everything. I even saw everything individually install while it was installing. (yeah i have a lot of time on my hands
) So anyways, it said everything was perfectly installed and needed to reboot. So i let the computer reboot, and this Blue window came up with the options: (1)SuSE 10.1,
(2)windows 1, (3)windows 2, (4)Safe SuSE 10.1..something like that. So i choose the top option of SuSE 10.1. Well It then went to another blue screen, but this is where the problem is....it just sat there. I must have left the computer running for over and hour, and it still stayed at that blue screen...I don't get it. I even tried the Safe mode, and that didn't even go through... Everything installed perfectly... when i did the checksum thingy, every cd was "ok". Please, someone out there, this is my first time with any sort of Linux..and i just want it to work...
please ask me questions if you have them!

Yes, windows runs perfectly like it did before i installed SuSE, i'm on it right now writing this :P
My specs are...
2.50 gigahertz Intel Celeron
8 kilobyte primary memory cache
128 kilobyte secondary memory cache
Board: MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD Gamila/Giovani/Neon series 030
Serial Number: 3C11304203
Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTD 3.05 11/25/2003
760 Megabytes Installed Memory
Slot 'A0' has 512 MB
Slot 'A1' has 256 MB
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 [Display adapter]
And when i try to run it in safe mode...it stops at....
udevd - event [1147] : run program : '/sbin/hwup' abnormal exit
and as i watched safe mode boot, some of them had the "abnormal exit" after them..does that matter?
So yeah here's the stuff u asked for hope this helps!!

hwup detects a hot-plug event and udevd points at a device which SuSe couldn't detect and tried to create a virtual device.
Windows is booting up properly. it means Harddisk, RAM or Mobo are Ok and not causing this problem.
have you got anything plugged in a usb port while starting up?It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

no, SuSE won't even install when I pressed 1 first, then enter.
As i watched it try to load, i saw the little lizard icon deal with the spinning dots was circling him. But after like 5 secs, it just stopped and froze..Right then i could tell noting was happening because my computer was completely silent. Like it thought it was done loading everything.
So yea, i don't have any USB things plugged in, Windows still boots up perfectly, SuSE installed perfectly....ugh i don't get this.

no need to be nervous. we will sort out this problem.
i have got this error a few months back. it was harddisk problem but Windows is booting up properly in your machine so its not harddisk problem in your case. i have to do a bit research on this problem. i will post back tomorrow.
