    3G USB Modem

    Hi

    I have a sony ericsson W880i phone with a 3G card and I would like to set it up on my Suse 10.1 box.

    I just converted from Windows XP.. The CD that came with the phone had all the setup software.

    Please any help will do...

    you just plug your phone via usb cable select phone mode go to yast hardware detect modems it will detect your phone you can add it configure kinternet i use kppp so if you hav it installed run kppp as root detect modem's and you can set it up from there sorry i'm not in front o pc at the moment so can't give much info

    As silly as this may sound, since you use KPPP, when you have a moment, if you're using KPPP as a USER and not as ROOT, would you be good enough to list all the settings you have in that regard so that I might be able to learn just what it is that I've done (and am still doing) wrong?

    I ask this as I can get KPPP to dial out and operate correctly while in ROOT but I've yet to get it to work when using Linux as a USER.

    On this end I'm using Suse v10.0, on a Dell laptop.

    I also use kppp as root i don't know how to set the suid bit on pppd but if ever i figure it out i'd be sure to let you know
