downloaded and installed totem and totem-browser-plugin after "libxine", "w32codec" and everything seemed to go well ..... except totem is not in the applications menu under multimedia anymore .... the first ...

totem question
downloaded and installed totem and totem-browser-plugin after "libxine", "w32codec" and everything seemed to go well ..... except totem is not in the applications menu under multimedia anymore .... the first step was to uninstall "xine-lib" and totem ... so what am i missing here to get totem back into the applications menu .... just so i can open it and see if the new codecs and libraires make totem open correctly ...

movie player in SuSE 10.0 in the applications menu IS totem ....... not sure of mplayer, but maybe similar - no experience with mplayer yet .... thanks for your help !!!!

Any reason your using totem or how ever you spell it? Kaffeine is a better video audio application.

Kaffeine is not available in Gnome. You have to install K Desktop Environment for that.
Did you try Mplayer? Check this tutorial.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
