Startign Beryl Correctly
I have a problem with beryl. When Suse boots beryl manager is loading metacity not beryl. I have to tell beryl manager to load beryl everytime I use the pc, and then reload the window decorator. How can I solve this? Also does anybody know why this has happened as beryl was working just fine...

How did you get beryl under Suse, by default suse comes with compiz, did you install it from source or the suse mirrors.
another thing do have the small icon of beryl in the kde/gnome panel ? or you have to start it manually ?
Regards.Linux is not only an operating system, it's a philosophy.

I installed it via yast from the repository on the opensuse.org site and followed the instructions there. Beryl starts with the machine, and has the little diamond icon on the systray without me having to do anything.
Another problem I'm now getting is that several programmes - clipper, kpowersave, and KMix are not docking to the systray at startup but apearing as items on the taskbar, which, when opened just display what should be on the systray
. I seem to be having far too many problems with suse

Check the permissions on .beryl-managerrc in your home directory (it's a hidden file). If it is not writable and owned by you make it so. If it is writable, try the opposite - set it how you would like it and then remove write permissions for yourself.
