SUSE 10.1 box only sees 2.5/12GB RAM

My SUSE 10.1 box only sees 2.5GB of the 12GB RAM I have in it. The BIOS recognizes the memory as well as /proc/meminfo.

I found some info at Novell that this was a problem with the kernel. I tried acouple of different kernels on the failsafe mode but they failed.

    Help!

Try installing the kernel-bigsmp package through YaST > Software Management and try booting it.

It has support for large amounts of memory using Physical Addressing Extensions.
