top shows only one CPU
Hi all
I am running SuSE 10.0 on a system with an intel core2 duo CPU. I am using an smp kernel (2.6.13-smp) but top only shows one CPU....
1. How can I ascertain that both of my CPUs are in use?Code:Cpu(s): 1.3% us, 0.2% sy, 0.0% ni, 98.0% id, 0.0% wa, 0.2% hi, 0.3% si
2. What do I need to do so top shows both CPU usage?

I don't remember if 10.0 had this but in system->monitor->KInfoCenter displays lots of info.Although I am using both cpu's top also doesn't show them.

Thanks that clarified the issue...I then configured ksysguard to show separate charts for both CPUs..
Thanks again for the quick reply....

Its pretty simple.
- In Ksysguard click on New. In the pop-up that appears choose 1 row and 2 columns and specify a name for the worksheet. Now click OK.
- A new tab will now appear in Ksysguard with the name you specified. In the left pane there will be a tree (root is localhost). Choose appropriate sensors (I chose system load and user load) and drop them one-by-one in the columns.
- When you drop the sensors it will ask you if you want a signal plotter, a multimeter, a bar graph or a file logger. Choose what u want (I chose a bar graph).
- Now save the sheet and whenever u open ksysguard just open it.
