Updaing causes yast malfunction
Hi All
I am running SuSE 10.0 and I used the 10.1 repos to upgrade KDE from 3.4 to 3.5. In order to resolve dependencies it also upgraded yast, kdm and gtk along with the associated libs. But ever since then yast has started to malfunction (none of the modules are working). For example when I click on software management in yast now it gives this error (but does not crash):
Other modules give other errors (I tried the ncurses mode too but the same errors occur).Code:/sbin/yast2: line 207: 9424 Segmentation fault $ybindir/y2base $module "$@" qt -geometry "$Y2_GEOMETRY" $Y2QT_ARGS
Meanwhile most of the GUIs are also not working. Firefox, gimp etc give this error
This has effectively rendered my Linux as useless. Please help me out...Thanks a lotCode:symbol lookup error: /opt/gnome/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: g_object_compat_control

Forget it....I reinstalled the whole system....My piece of advise to all those who use the next version repos to install software....be careful....you can break your system down....Thats all....
Anyways if you can think of a solution to rescue someone from this problem please post below to help others....but remember I have no way to check it
Thanks to all who viewed this thread.
