Desperately need help!!!!!!!!!!for Suse 10.1 PLEASE HELP PLZ!!
Hi ALL,
I bought a copy of linux Suse 10.1 and while loading it on my harddisk using the h-s101d.sfv file which is the file verification database, i got 2 errors saying that there were 2 bad files. there are total of 167 files out of that 165 are good. the 2 files that are bad are h-s101d.r29 which says FAILED CRC mismatch and h-s101d.r84 which says FAILED CRC mismatch.
I am new to linux and never used it ever. a friend told me its the best thing you could work on so im really interested in having a workable copy and seeing what the fanfare is all about. can somebody plz and i really mean it please try to send me these 2 files which are bad so that i can replace te bad ones with the good 2 files you would send me so that linux is workable. i would really appreciate this gesture
thank you

Hi and Welcome !
i am not getting it. how are you loading SuSe?
did you extract SuSe's .iso image or Burn it as image to CD/DVD?It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Re:
hi
well not sure. i bought a dvd copy. it came in 2 dvds. the 1st dvd had various files 89 of them in .rar format, each file of equal size. using suse 10.1 . now file 29 & 84 of .rar type r bad coz when i run using .svf to unzip files it says that these 2 files r bad error shows CRC FILE MISMATCH. The remaining 165 files out of 167 r ok. i have first loaded both dvds on my drive d which has 20gb space and is ntsc type. after loading files from the dvd i used the .svf file which extracts all the files on both dvds. now i was wondering if i could get hold of .rar file # 29 and .rar file # 84 since these 2 files r bad so what if i replace these 2 bad files with 2 good ones of this type maybe it might work?? i am a novice with linux so this is what i understand until now just using common logic. maybe u will have a different take on it.
plz do reply.thanks

I'd send them back to whoever you bought them from if they aren't working correctly. Is there any way you can just download Suse or any other distro? It would save you a lot of time and trouble.
