VM ware is not set up like a regualar computer. Any reason you dont just install it with Windows so that you can dual boot it?
running linux through windows defetes the perpose of having linux. Windows is usualy slow and most things and linux is a lot faster. if i were you i would justinstall it and make sure that you set up the partition correctly. if you want help installing Suse 10.2 so you can dual boot with windows just tell me and il be happy to help.

Hey,
Is that VmWare is installed on WinXP and you want to install Suse from it. Well in that case by default WinXP detects your Suse installation CD and VMware cant. You need to do settings in your VMware exactly as.
1. Enable the option connect your CD-rom under VMware
2. When it boots press F12 to go in VM-BIOS select boot from CD-rom there.
Save the settings and exit.Regards,

Very easy
1) change the size of the windows partition so that there is free space equal to the size you want to give to Linux
2) install Linux

Did You set it up? The best way and the way Suse 10.2 default is to have a dual boot system. so just start up the installation and when it shows software partitioning ect, make sure Partitioning had windows still on there do not delete windows and if there s a problem just config lilo or grub.
P.s. i prefer Grub

Yep,U are right.
But though U said so, I still failed at first time cuz HPA of my Thinkpad R40e blocked me from modifying any single data of partition of the hard disk.
Of course we all know that two OS can never be installed in one disk so I used NortonMagic and still failed.
Right now I suggest RAF going back and checking whether Ur .ISO image has the right MD5.
Google a tool to check it cuz there are people who downloaded but couldn't use because of the wrong MD5.
