Suse is not booting up after Installation.

I have just installed Linux onto a server that was previously configured to run Windows. The installation was reported as successful, but now the server will not reboot. If I do a cold reboot when it comes up it does not come to a login prompt for Linux, but instead goes to it's old login prompt for Windows. What could be wrong?

I donno very much about the server, but did U installed openSuSE 10.2 or other versions. 10.2 has a little stuff preloaded into its installation called GRUB, which can help.
So first of all, U check Ur CMOS/BIOS, and then get GRUB and find out how to use it.
    That's my suggestion.

Are you saying that you installed linux with windows and cant boot into linux?

Is it your plan to dual boot it?

if thats the case insert suse cd or dvd1 and select update it should install grub, if you get a prompt about a boot loader lilo or grub will do fine.

    P.S. i prefer grub
