10.2 install problem - hangs after "starting hald... ok"
I have successfully installed openSUSE 10.2 on my HP AMD64 system and am now trying to install it on an old AMD system. I successfully installed an earlier version of openSUSE and Fedora on this same system. I cleared the disk and am now attempting to install openSUSE 10.2 (i386). What happens is that I get the boot options menu, select one of the install options (this happens on any of them including Safe). The boot runs along and the last thing I see is:
starting hald... ok
That's it. How do I get past this point? I'm not sure if the problem is with hald or maybe the next item in the boot process.
HELP!?!?!

If I knew I was going to have egg on my face maybe I wouldn't have eaten so much breakfast.
I wandered off to do some errands and when I came back nearly an hour after I started the last install attempt I found the openSUSE install prompting for my language. I have no idea what it's doing for so long but apparently I was just being impatient.
So.... Nevermind.
