    SuSE 10.2 Installation problem

    Hi everyone,

I've been trying to install suse 10.2 on my brothers laptop and everything works fine until I select an installation type (standard, no acpi etc). After it loads the kernel I get a black screen and it just hangs and I can't reboot unless I push the power button. I've tried loading kubuntu 7.04 and it says something about MP BIOS bug and SMP tables but it works fine.
    Any help much appreciated!

    Thank you for replying!

Yes, I have looked for a bios update and I downloaded and flashed the latest one.
    It's a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo L7300.
    Again, thank you for replying!
