Cool Can View but not use files on Vista from Samba

I have been using Samba to access files on a Vista machine. I can easily view files on the Vista machine however, when I attempt to view document files or to play music files I receive a message that indicates the files do not exist. I am using SLED10.1 as a distribution. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks much.
