    Thumbs down Xampp

    Hi,

Has anyone successfully installed XAMPP onto a SUSE Enterprise 10.1 box? I have a project I am starting in August at work so a Colleague can teach a class with "Ruby-on-Rails".

I once tried to set up the box using just LAMP, but I had so interesting problems with FTP. I used vsftp and had the .conf file set to jail the users, but the users were loggin into the box and then trying to ftp from the box, back to the box which put them into the root. weird.

Any one able to offer suggestions on the XAMPP ?

I am not sure what you are asking, but I have set it up on several boxes running SuSE 10.2 and it works very well.

What exactly would you like to know. I am not an expert but I'll try my best.

    Re: Xampp

Yes, sorry for the delay and the confusing inquiry. Reading it just now, I see I did nothing to help myself in the asking.

Are the configuration files which are needed to modify options in the same default location when installing XAMPP on a SUSE 10.x system as if I had installed MySQL, Apache, Php, etc... individually and seperately on a SUSE 10.x system?

In addition, when installing the "Ruby on Rails" addition, do you know if I have to make additional modifications?

every thing is contained in the lampp directory, but is similler, as most of the config files are in the 'etc' directory within the lampp dir.
this is what it looks like -

I am not sure if you need to make any modifications for ruby on rails, I have never used it before.
