Installation Problem : Stating YAST2
Hello,
i'm a begginer with linux and as u can see this is my first post on this forum so any help and advice is very welcome no matter how trivial it could seem...
I was recommended open SUSE 10.2...so i tried it and first time around it worked, well good enough, there were some problems with restart (every time i tried to log out--restart it freezes and i have to do it manually) but i could use it for every day needs...but i had to format my hard drive (60GB maxtor) yesterday and to rearrange the partitions.
this time everything went well until the end of the installation and the part with the hardware configuration (the last step) where it says "starting YaST2" and everything just freezes, i waited for maybe 10-15 minutes but nothing happened.
thanks for any suggestion on this problem....

Hi and Welcome !
What does machine display at Startup? Does it throw any error message? It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Only thing that comes to mind are two lines above the "starting YaST2"..one says (i think) "ACPI not supported", i tried to get around that by Installation ACPI=off...and there is another one which says "CPUFreq not supported"...
both of these were there the first time around but as i said before it worked...
weird, don't u think?
