After installing 10.2, neither Yast or su recognize the password I entered during installation. I logged in as a single user and reset the password to what I originally entered, reboot, and it still doesn't accept that password.

After that failed, I followed the instructions in another post that recommended removing the password from /etc/shadow to set a new password. That didn't work either, so I went back to shadow and noticed that most other entries had ':*:' or "" where I had "::" for root, so I changed it to ":*":, so now I can't get access to shadow at all!

Can anyone help
