Video card, sound and 3G USB promblems
Ok first off, I got Nvidia 7600 gt with HDMI and DVI, I installed suse using the dvi cause the resolution wouldnt work using the hdmi. I got the Nvidia driver to work (so I could use the HDMI)and now once it boots the driver, its fine. But the splash screen and the loading screen is still messed up. Does any one know how to change the resolution of the start up screen?
Also having promblems getting the sound to work, Im using the HDMI cable for sound, its connected to the spdif out on the mother board(Asus pw5 dh deluxe).
I cant seem to get the driver loaded. Ive attached the read me and filelist. Please note that the actual name of the tar on the cd is alsa-driver-1.0.9b_26.tar.bz2 when in the read me its listed as b_1.
And finally I have a Globesurfer icon 7.2
nova media | hardware for Mac OS X and Windows | USB-modem for HSDPA, UMTS, EDGE and GPRS connections
I would like to make it work with suse, it says it works with Mac OS, so I was wondering if there is a work around to get it to work.
I need help. Thank youLast edited by tellie1; 08-01-2007 at 11:51 AM. Reason: changing title

First problem
In /boot/grub/menu.lst check the line starting with kernel
change or add vga= value from table below
You should probably pick the native resolution for your monitorCode:Colours 640x400 640x480 800x600 1024x768 1152x864 1280x1024 1600x1200 --------+-------------------------------------------------------------- 4 bits | ? ? 0x302 ? ? ? ? 8 bits | 0x300 0x301 0x303 0x305 0x161 0x307 0x31C 15 bits | ? 0x310 0x313 0x316 0x162 0x319 0x31D 16 bits | ? 0x311 0x314 0x317 0x163 0x31A 0x31E 24 bits | ? 0x312 0x315 0x318 ? 0x31B 0x31F 32 bits | ? ? ? ? 0x164 ?

thing is since im using the hdmi it wont support native resolution during the splash screen. the hdmi doesnt work right till the driver is loaded and the driver doesnt load till after the start up. In Fedora the video driver kicks in first but suse sems to be backwards, anyway to fix it?
