    VNC Server Help

If you have VNC Server installed, on a computer, you can remotely administer the server through a Java-Capable web browser of a client computer using port 8080.

Is this statement true or false? Explain Why.

    Thanks.

I won't answer if the statement is true or false because there may be something I don't know, but to access a remote VNC server using a java enabled web browser you need two ports open. Ports 5800 and 5900 or 5801 and 5901 etc. in your router, with both ports forwarded to the VNC server. 5800 is for java and 5900 is for VNC. I have 5801 and 5901 open on a remote machine and regularly VNC into it using the address:

    http://ip_address_of_remote_network_:5801

Once in the server machine, you can administer VNC however you wish. To turn VNC servers on and off remotely, I normally use ssh.

That doesn't answer your exact question but I hope it helps in some way.
