im not to sure on how to install anything in linux, so i go by the instrucctions given to me.
although i have downlaoded superkaramba

i cant manage to compile it..
so far this works for me in the root console:
tar -zxvf /home/simplyskillz/superkaramba-0.37.tar.gz
i get lots of writing etc after pressing enter.. but as soon as i type in
./configure
i get a no such file or directory error.
can anyone help?
Once you have unzipped the tarball you need to change into the new superkaramba directory in order to compile, e.g:
cd super<push the tab key>
You can then compile. Please not you need the following to compile:
gcc
gcc-c++
An easier way would be to google for a RPM which you can install via Yast.

They are available on your installation dvd. To install:
Yast>software management
Then type in GCC in the search menu and then check the boxes, Yast will then install the packages.
If you are new to linux then see here:

Once you have set up your installation sources as per the link, just open up Yast (as I explain above) and type in superkaramba - Yast will install it for you. No need to unzip files and 'compile from source' (what you are doing by using .gz files).

wow, thanks so much, i like this Yast thingy.. does it only come with SuSE? it makes life so much easier!
i dont know how i would be able to cope with linux if it wasnt for people like you on linux forums!

Yes, Yast is something specific to Suse. And yes, it does make life a hell of a lot easier!!!
As regards Linux then yes, very painful starting out but worth it in the long run ....
