Only KDE in SUSE?
My SUSE 9.1 Personal only comes with KDE. I have now downloaded and installed Fluxbox to use as an alternative. Where do i change or add this as an alternative desktop? I have found a place to change the "default" desktop, but I want KDE to stay as default and use Fluxbox from time to time...how do I do this?
I used to use Mandrake 9.1 where a list was avalible at login where I could chose Gnome, KDE etc. Is there anything similar in Suse?

You can use the ~/.xinitrc to specify what DE you wish to use. Just put fluxbox in that file, and it will override the system defaults on a startx for that user.

thank you! that worked!!
Do you know of any nice desktop beside KDE that is easy to install (RPM) on suse 9.1?
I would like some links and if not in RPM, easy install instructions
general question: RPM:s made for suse 8.x are they compatible with Suse 9.x

Don't have a clue about RPMs/SuSE, but I would suggest flux or kahakai. Both are lite and highly configurable. 8)
