    Laptop Brightness Issue

So most things are working great on my new laptop. The only glitch I have ran in to is the brightness adjustment in Ubuntu. I have to hold down the FN key and then use the up down arrow's to adjust brightness. What happens is I either get really dark or brightest setting. Is there anyway to adjust it or be a little more precise with it ? Also I noticed sometimes when adjusting brightness my mouse cursor dissapears. I can still go and select stuff its just really hard as I cant actually see the mouse cursor.

    Thanks

Right click on Panel and select 'Add to Panel'. Select Brightness Applet from list.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    Through wine

This is not a perfect solution, but it's pretty darn good, especially if you already have wine.
