Cool Vnc

i resently created a web server. i installed vnc so i remote to it from work but i keep getting the following an error saying connection refused and then the number 1006. i dont know any one have any ideas.

im running VNC4server and i also ran tighvnc following suggestion on the web. i really just wanted to tab into my desktop remotely. but the Vnc i want use is Vncserver4

is your server behind a firewall? if so you'll have to open the port up that the vnc server is listening on

depends what vnc server you used, and how you configured it, if you left it at the default port or didn't have that option, you'll have to do a man on it, or look at the vnc server site to find the default port

thanks i think i found the port any way of configuring that from a Putty. i have an ssh tunnel.
