Unhappy Problem with Dell SE178WFP Monitor

Hi, I purchased a Dell Inspirion 530 with Ubuntu 7.4 preinstalled. It came with a Dell SE178WFP Flat panel monitor which has a maximum resolution of 1440X900. But the maximum resolution Ubuntu can get is 1024X768. There were drivers provided along with the monitor for getting 1440X900, but as expected, no driver for Linux. Does anyone have the driver needed or knows how I can get the better resolution out of the monitor.

Thanks,

-Sreeni

Have you installed the correct drivers for your graphics card/chip? What GPU are you using?
