[SOLVED] New to linux
Hey guys I am new to linux OS need to know where I should start. I installed it on my vmware and want to know where to get started to get a grip of the system.

Welcome to the forums! I'd recommend reading up on Linux in general with some of the links in our introductory thread:

After that, play around. You'll learn more by doing in Linux than by reading anyway. If you mess something up, post here and we'll do our best to teach you how to fix it. You've got a lot of freedom using a VM since you don't have to worry about messing with your base system. If you *really* mess up you can always delete the VM and start again. Above all, have fun.

Like techieMoe says above, experimenting with your new setup is the best way to learn what it's capable of.

command line commands are endlessly useful and make messing with stuff easier w3 schools is a good place to find them and google linux command line commands and learn a few by making and editing test files
