Firefox Crashes While playing flash

I have a compaq presario f500 running on ubuntu 7.10. Firefox keeps crashing while I play flash, either it's youtube or whatever site, firefox will crash for no apparent reason. Sometimes, the system froze while playing some flash video. I have no clue how this happen. does thi happen to any of you?

This is a kinda known problem and it happened a lot to me. We believe it's related to the Flash Plugin's version.

I could solve this problem installing the lastest version of the plugin (9.0.115.0
) manually from the tar.gz you can download from Adobe's page.

To install, unpack it and run the script inside. It should work. If it doesn't, you can try to paste the plugin file (the other file in the .tar.gz rather then the script) into the folder ~/.mozilla/Plugins (I'm not sure about the name of this folder, but if you go inside ~/.mozilla, you'll find it easily).

It worked for me, at least. Please post if you have any further problems or if it works for you too.

i did that. now it works fine, but then again i notice something entirely different. when playing flash it sucks all the resources out of hte system. The cpu would works at 80-90% while playing a youtube video. this is relaly annoying.
