Angry [SOLVED] Rythm Box Does not play Mp3s

Says it does not have the proper decoder installed. Seems like it would come standard with it since alot of people play Mp3 files. Where do I go to install the correct Decoder?

cannot get to the terminal to type i the command. I had been using ctrl_alt_F1 but that just takes me to a blank screen now.

Nevermind I added it to my accessories list and did it that way

The Terminal is found in the Accessories menu, when running a GUI, there is no need to do CTRL-ALT-F1 (unless of course, you just prefer to do things that way) since you can start a terminal inside your GUI environment. Also instead of executing the commands in the CLI, you can run Synaptic, enable the required repos and then install the apps you need.

The terminal in accessories does not let me run as the root user. I went to preferences/main menu and added root terminal under system tools. I use it now.

You should not use Root Terminal all the time. Its very dangerous imho. Use sudo to gain root privileges. Check this sticky for more details.
