root@localhost mail to thunderbird

Hello, I'll keep this short and sweet. I need some help in making any mail sent to root@localhost appear in thunderbird. Here are the current thunderbird settings I have entered:

Server type: Unix Movemail
Server name: localhost
Username: root

I have exim4 installed and the light daemon version. Anyone provide me with a few pointers on how to do this as all the tutorials I've read are out of date and / or don't make sense.
