Multiple users on small network

Hi all,
I've just started to use Kubuntu and am really impressed. I now want to move away from windows on my other pc's. I would like to have each person in the house to be able to log in to any pc and access their files (and desktop?) held on a central server that I also want to be able to host a website from.

Could anyone help or point me in the right direction as to what to do?

Thanks in advance - Paul

Hello Paul

The easiest thing to do is run the krdc program this is remote desktop connection. if you don't have it just apt-get install krdc vnc-common from a command line as root. On the server just add the users you would like from a command line also as root.
adduser username . this will create the user and the directory in /home
then they need a password. Also from a command line passwd username.

hope this was of help.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have been having a bit of a play. I have installed amahi home server. I would now like it so any four of us can log into any PC and by default it use the users drive on the network server. Do I create duplicate user accounts on each PC that then have the network drive as its path? If so how do I do this. Thanks for any assistance!
