The post below shows your swap partition being more than 20 times the size of your root partition?? Your menu.lst Ubuntu entry shows root at sdb1.

The post below shows your partition full: 100%
paul@paul-desktop:~$ df -h

/dev/sdb1 2.8G 2.7G 2.1M 100% /

So it appears you created the root and swap partitions but put root where swap should be and vice versa.

So it seems you will need to resize sdb1 after deleting swap (sdb2) and going with jonathan183's suggestion or something similar.
