Hiya, please help,

I have Kubuntu 6.10 edgy installed on my internal drive as my primary and only OS, nice as it is, I want to install a newer distro over it. but I've hit a brick wall,

I've tried to install Ubuntu 8 and Fedora 9 from the live CDs, but neither will detect my internal harddrive, I just get a 'no drive found' error.

result of fdisk -l in Kubuntu:

If you just want to wipe what's on there and start over, I'd recommend something like The Ultimate Boot CD to just zero out the harddrive altogether. It's odd that your drive isn't detected though. What are the hardware specs on this computer?

I'm using an old compaq pIII,
I had just downloaded ubcd b4 i read your reply, so i'm gonna try it out, ill let u know if it works, hopefully from with a different os.
