Hello all,

I have installed the new wifi modem in my home for working on laptop. On windows vista, it detects the wifi connection very easily and the connectivity is also very good. But on ubuntu 8.04, the detection of wifi network is very poor. It rarely detects the wifi network and hence I have to use the wired connection for accessing internet on linux. Also, to check whether it has detected any wifi network or not, I have to see the System->Administrator->Network every time to check the signal strength.

Can anyone help me to get a better performance for wifi network in ubuntu.
