Thumbs down Kde desktop vanished

hi there sorry to trouble u all again .....but i have a problem
today i installed the KDE desktop ...all was good but when i installed a new theme ...the small transparent square desktop that was there (i dont know what it is called crashed ...its there a way i can bring it back ...i restarted my lap ..but but still it did not came ...this is the first time i am using kde.....thanks in advance...

Press Alt+Ctrl+F1 at login screen and log in at command prompt. Rename .kde folder in your /home folder. Log out and press Alt+Ctrl+F7 to switch back to GUI.

well ....i dont know hoe to rename the folder in command prompt
i tried executing /home
it gave me bash#/home is a directory ....
can any one help me on how to rename the folder ...
i also executed dir and there was noooooo such folder with .kde

In the command line type

Quote:
cd /home
then type

Quote:
ls
to see a list of the folders there.

Then type

Quote:
mv oldfilename newfilename

if it gives you any permission denied messages after any of those, type sudo before the command.
