Thumbs down [SOLVED] Need to Veiw Files From Windows

First of all, hi! I'm new to Linux, having just installed Ubuntu on my PC a few weeks ago. I hope I can become a productive member of the forum!

Second, I have a problem. The PC I have runs Windows Vista and will have to continue running it because there are some other people in the house who aren't fans of Linux. When I installed Ubuntu, I think it allocated a certain amount of the hard drive for Ubuntu to use. The only problem is, I can't access things like my pictures and music because it's on the Windows portion. It seems like a real waste to just copy it over to the other hard drive portion, and things have to stay where they are on the Windows side, so, how can I fix this?
-Thanks

Hi and Welcome !

Ubuntu support read/write access of NTFS partitions out of box. Have you checked Places in Menu?
Open Terminal and execute this
Code:
sudo fdisk -l
df -h
Post output here.

* Its small L in fdisk -l.
