Red face installing drivers

I have an RT2500 wireless card and need to install it in ubuntu to get my wireless back up and running I down loaded the relevent driver from
http://www.ralinktech.com/supp-1.htm
I downloaded this: PCI/MiniPCI/CardBus(Source Code)
it is a file now held on my desktop what do i do with it? as it is source code do i have to compile it or something if so how do i do that?
if someone could explane what to do in simple terms it would be apreciated as i'm not overly familiar with ubuntu yet

There's a readme file in the folder module, if you have any problem come back here

ps: you are using kernel 2.6

thanks i have actually since descovered that the rt2500 drivers are included as standard in the ubuntu kernal so in actual fact i do not need to do anything to get it working all i need now is my other computer (its being fixed) then i can test it.

I'm using the 2.4.x build instructions. I don't know what to do when I get to b. on the list.

I would recommend using Ndiswrapper.

First place I would look at is:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wi...cs%2FDriver%29

But be sure to use:
http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/m...dex.php/Ubuntu

dont forget to blacklist the default drivers because they might take over your card instead of the ndiswrapped windows driver.
