gksudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Subsection "Display"
Depth 8
Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
ViewPort 0 0
EndSubsection
Subsection "Display"
Depth 16
Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
ViewPort 0 0
EndSubsection
Subsection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480" <=====
ViewPort 0 0
EndSubsection
EndSection
You should have a section like this add the resolutions you want under the default depthPut your hand in an oven for a minute and it will be like an hour, sit beside a beautiful woman for an hour and it will be like a minute, that is relativity. --Albert Einstein

drop down list will show the resolutions listed under default depth.
check xorg.conf again and default depth should be 24.
you need root permissions for that.but it wont let me edit it
and add the resolutions under the default path?
sudo vi /etc/X11/xorg.conf
casperIt is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
