| The problem is that there is a conflict of directories. The "install" of nvidia places the drivers in one place, and the kernel expects them elsewhere. I am not in front of "my" computer just now, but if you look at another entry in the forum under "zenworks and nvidia" you will find some clues. I have the same problem and I have not yet managed to resolve it. There are three avenues open:
A. Rename your driver from "nvidia" to "vesa". This sort of works but gives you (or at least me) a terrible GUI.
B. Recompile the kernel (instructions in the forum entry above) - which I haven't tried yet.
C. Make symbolic links between the two directories (haven't managed to make it work yet). |
