| NVIDIA glx problem (I think) Now I read some of the Forums containing these kind of problems, and I only made it this far because of some of the other threads.
So heres the deal. Just so you know the exact state I'm in. The facts are... I have Kubuntu 7.04, the NVIDIA logo is displayed when X starts, the "Driver" section of my "xorg.conf" file contains "nvidia" not "nv" or "vesa" (so I believe that's correct).
Now whenever I try to run just about any of my games (there all Linux games), I get errors like this

So I really don't know what's wrong, (or more like I don't know how to fix whats wrong), and it would be great if some one here could help me out. So thanks in advance.

Oh and another quick question, I have the DVD Live disk version of Kubuntu 7.04 and I also have the CD live disk version of Kubuntu 7.04. I just wondered what is on the DVD version that isn't on the CD version?
Could some one please help me with this. |

| I shall restate my problem in hopes that some one will be able to help me.
As of NOW I do NOT have the Nvidia driver installed on my computer. My Graphics Card is a "NVIDIA Geforce2 GTS/Geforce2 Pro" every time I have installed the driver it eather comes up with those errors (that were in my previous post) or it has some driver loading error (or something like that) and X won't start. I have been searching the web to try and figure out my problem, and I have tried using a program called "Envy" (if any of you know what that is) to automatticly download and install the drive but the result on that is X fails to start after it installs the driver. So I am trying to resolve this problem on my own but so far I have failed. I would REALLY appreciate some help on this.

| Which version of the official Nvidia driver are you using?
I have to ask, because they have two releases: one for modern cards, and a "legacy" driver for older cards like the GF2 GTS. |

You can either run the installer again and say "Yes" to the question about changing your X config file (the installer asks that question after the module is built and installed), or you can just edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf as root and change "Driver" "nv" to "Driver" "nvidia" in the Device section. |

| Not to be rude but I already did that, and when I replace the "nv" in "xorg.conf" with "nvidia" "X" WON'T start! And so I replaced the "nvidia" with "nv" just so X will start. However just to be extra sure I will do it again.

| I reinstalled the Driver manualy and now I back in the same state I was in on the first post.
