Check this HowTo for a number of different ways to install software under Linux:

For new users, it's usually best to use the package manager that came with your distribution. For the *buntu distros, that would be apt from the command line, or you can use Synaptic (front end for apt) under the GUI. Look for it in your system menu. If you are running Kubuntu, you'll need to install it.

You'll probably need to run WINE if you want to run any Windows .exe files.

Which distro are you using? There is no need to install Rythmbox because its pre-installe in Ubuntu and Amarok ( Rhythmbox's alternative ) is pre-installed in Kubuntu.
You should use Synaptic for package installation as suggested by ozar.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Screenshot is too small, so I can't make anything out in it.

Try using Synaptic to install any software you need.
