Linux supports a huge number of usb devices, so you may be lucky and have no need to install the driver yourself. Go to System->Administration->Network. Press the unlock button and give your password to change the settings. See if your usb modem appears on the list. If it appears, put the settings and make sure its checkbox is checked.

I use same type of protocol pppoe for connecting.

Try this as the last resource ,if you can see light of the modem turned on ,(even not pulsing LAN really fast ,and ADSL normally) go to Terminal and type :

sudo pppoeconf and configure your connection,it works fine for me with Ubuntu 8.04

And it don't work at the NETWORK ,PPPOE properties thing for me .

If lights are not on ,i guess its hardware problem,i hope guys with more knowledge than my help you if this don't work.
I have had a 360 ,but it got the RROD
No more XBOX, i turned PS3
I had it for months ,it still amazes me!

Never seen a bigger failure of MICROSOFT then the XBOX 360!
