That has occasionally happened to me with the mirrors I use. You can change back to the main mirrors in the meantime.
Open Synaptic Package Manager, go to Settings > Repositories > Download From and change it to Main Server. This should work for you after a refresh.

Bro ! I have changed the server to MAIN SERVER in Repositories. But still, I am not download anything using Package manager. I am getting following error:
I think it has something to do with Firewall settings as the last line of the error says "Could not connect to localhost:4001 (127.0.0.1). - connect (111 Connection refused)". These kinds of errors in Windows we face whenever we misconfigure the firewall. Rest You know better...Code:W: Failed to fetch http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/hardy/Release.gpg Could not connect to localhost:4001 (127.0.0.1). - connect (111 Connection refused) W: Failed to fetch http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/hardy/main/i18n/Translation-en_IN.bz2 Could not connect to localhost:4001 (127.0.0.1). - connect (111 Connection refused)
Kindly help me to solve this issue. Can u tell me is there any GUI based firewall for Ubuntu.?
