do we have any limit for the size of deleted file !
as of i have seen one software in Xp we can recover the deleted files of more than 2 gb
is it really possible in linuxrocky

Tools? Maybe, but I wouldn't know.
Make backups!!! I run a full backup once a week on my personal boxes.

photorec
I use Photorec for recovering files even after they have been formated EXT/NTFS. But nothing beats the backup.

You can install foremost - Forensics application to recover data.
Depending on the distro, try
orCode:yum install foremost
Code:apt-get install foremost
