hi,;;
can we have tools for recovering deleted files in ubuntu as if in windows XP
if so how can we install the soft and use it?

do we have any limit for the size of deleted file !

as of i have seen one software in Xp we can recover the deleted files of more than 2 gb
is it really possible in linux

Tools? Maybe, but I wouldn't know.

Make backups!!! I run a full backup once a week on my personal boxes.

I use Photorec for recovering files even after they have been formated EXT/NTFS. But nothing beats the backup.

You can install foremost - Forensics application to recover data.
Depending on the distro, try

i have done the same
'apt-get install foremost '
and successfully installed foremost
i am linux newbie i dono know what to do next
